Psychologist – Clinical Therapist

Carolyn is a registered psychologist who has worked as a clinical therapist and manager in adult and youth mental health in Victoria and Queensland. She has a broad range of experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing psychological concerns.
Carolyn has specialist experience in developing individualised treatment approaches for people with childhood trauma, self-harming, drug and alcohol issues, psychotic illness, mood disorders and complex or dual diagnosis issues. Carolyn has provided consultation and training on these topics to other professionals including GP’s, psychiatrists, indigenous workers, police, protective services and teachers.
Carolyn has a demonstrated capacity to engage her clients, pay attention to the therapeutic relationship, develop a solid conceptualisation of presenting concerns and match the client’s individual needs with an evidence based approach. Carolyn draws on a number of interventions to support her clients which include cognitive behavioural and schema therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioural therapy and psychoanalytic concepts. She is currently combining work with Bulimba Psychology and the Early Psychosis team within Queensland Health.
Carolyn sees people with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties and is available for individual therapy by appointment.
Carolyn practices at Bulimba Psychology, Wednesday, Wednesday evenings and Thursday evenings.
