Natalie is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a member of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, and an Associate Member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists. Natalie is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Natalie’s approaches to psychological interventions are primarily Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness based interventions. Natalie has experience in assessing and treating adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, Asperger’s Disorder, and psychotic and substance use disorders. Additional areas of clinical practice experience include: body image concerns and other difficulties related to poor self-image, work-related and academic-related stress including perfectionism, treating compulsive behaviours, relationship dysfunction, disordered eating, and emotion regulation difficulties. Natalie also conducts a variety of psychological assessments including intellectual and memory functioning.
One of the most important elements of Natalie’s practice as a psychologist is to create a therapeutic relationship based on safety, acceptance, genuineness, and positive regard for her clients. Natalie is also committed to advancing her clinical knowledge through ongoing professional education and training.
Natalie is currently combining part-time private practice work in parallel with her current position at Disability Services Queensland as a clinician with the Specialist Response Service team where she assesses and supports adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, and, challenging behaviours related to other medical and psychiatric conditions.
