Beth Reid – Clinical Psychologist – MAPS, FCCLP, MPsych (Clin), BPsych (Hons)
Beth Reid is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Medicare-endorsed provider of psychological services, including non-directive perinatal counselling. She is also a registered practitioner with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Beth offers therapy for adults seeking support for:
- Anxiety and panic
- Depression and mood difficulties
- Grief and loss
- Substance and process addictions
- Birth trauma
In addition to the above, Beth has a particular passion for supporting individuals through the perinatal period, including:
- Clarifying the decision to become a parent – exploring values, readiness, and relationships
- Emotional support during fertility struggles or involuntary childlessness
- Coping with medical or genetic diagnoses during pregnancy
- Navigating antenatal and postnatal adjustment – identity changes, anxiety, or depression
- Processing difficult birth experiences and separation from baby (e.g., NICU)
- Grieving the loss of a baby or pregnancy
Beth’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Beth is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy – a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for trauma, distressing memories, and anxiety-related issues. Depending on your goals, Beth draws on EMDR, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-based approaches. Sessions are tailored to meet your unique needs, and you are always at the centre of the process.
